Cancellation & Missed Appointment Policy
Due to the high demand for psychological services, we kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a fee of 50% of the session cost.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will be charged the full session fee.
Telehealth sessions will be considered a no-show and charged at the full rate if not attended within the first 15 minutes.
These fees reflect the time set aside for you and ensure fairness to others waiting for support. Please note, weekends are not included in the cancellation window.

Your first session at ARW Psychological Services is an extended assessment session (up to 90 minutes).
This is a space for you to explore the concerns bringing you to therapy, your personal history, and your current context. It’s also an opportunity to get a feel for how we might work together and ensure the support offered feels like a good fit for you.
Together, we’ll begin to outline a therapeutic plan including your goals, areas of focus, and the approaches that may be most supportive for your needs.
For some clients, it can be helpful to include a trusted support person or whānau member in early sessions. This can be discussed with your therapist as part of your care plan.

At ARW, I believe in a collaborative approach when it’s helpful for your care. With your consent, I may connect with other health professionals such as your GP, a psychiatrist, or a dietitian to ensure we’re supporting you holistically.
If needed, I’ll provide a brief summary to your GP at the start and end of therapy. I may also check in with them or other providers during our work together, if it supports your goals and wellbeing.
Please note, I don’t offer medical services so any concerns around physical health, medications, or medical reviews will need to be addressed by your doctor. Initial and discharge letters are complimentary; additional reports or written communication will incur a fee.
